About the event
In this advanced STEM class, students will immerse themselves in the intricate world of insects. Through hands-on experiments and detailed investigations, they will examine the critical roles insects play within ecosystems, their unique adaptations for survival, and their environmental impact. Students will delve into the anatomy, behavior, and classification of various insect species, using scientific methods to deepen their understanding of these complex organisms. By the end of the course, students will have gained the knowledge and skills of emerging entomologists, ready to explore the sophisticated biology and ecology of insects.
Objectives:
Classify and differentiate between various insect species based on anatomical and behavioral traits.
Analyze the ecological roles of insects, including their contributions to pollination, decomposition, and food webs.
Investigate the anatomy and physiological adaptations of insects through in-depth study and experimentation.
Apply scientific inquiry and critical thinking to understand how insects adapt to diverse environments and challenges.
