STEM4U K-5 February: Rocks & Gems

Uniquely adapted STEM classes increasing STEM accessibility for all designed for participants with unique needs or disabilities. Class size will be capped at 8 participants to ensure a small learning environment and individualized attention.

In this hands-on and supportive STEM class, students will explore the fascinating world of geology at a comfortable, accessible pace. Through interactive, sensory-friendly activities, participants will investigate rocks, minerals, soil, and the Earth’s layers—digging, sorting, comparing textures, and observing how natural materials change and move. The class encourages exploration, creativity, and curiosity, offering plenty of opportunities for movement, tactile play, visual supports, and guided discovery. Every activity is thoughtfully designed to meet the diverse needs of each student, making geology engaging, meaningful, and fun for all learners.
